Blue Matcha Latte / 青い抹茶ラテ

- 1 tsp matcha
- 3 tsp butterfly pea flowers you can use the flowers like me or there's powder or bagged versions
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
Heat the water to just before boiling. In a matcha bowl or wide-bottomed bowl, put in 1 tsp of matcha powder and a little bit of the water (about 2 oz). Whisk the matcha until smooth.
In a mug or cup, pour in some of the hot water for your latte base. Steep 2 tsp of butterfly pea flowers for about 3-5 minutes or until you achieve your desired color (I recommend keeping it lighter than going too dark since the matcha will darken it).
Once the butterfly pea flower base is done steeping, pour in the matcha and stir.
Heat the milk lightly (do not boil). Steep 1 tsp of butterfly pea flowers in the hot milk to make the milk a pretty light blue color (I recommend going slightly darker than what you want since it will look less bold after it's frothed). Once desired color is achieved, froth the milk.
Top your tea base with the frothed milk and enjoy!
