- 2 cups cooked rice
- 6 pieces thinly sliced pork
- 4 pieces ooba (shiso leaves)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1 tbsp oil
Sauce
- 1 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
Slice ooba/shiso leaves into thin strips.
In a large bowl, mix the cooked rice, ooba, and sesame seeds well. Divide the mixed rice into 6 equal parts. Roll each part into a cylindrical ball.
Put a piece of pork on a cutting board and sprinkle one side with corn starch. Flip over and put one rice ball at one end of the pork and roll up until the pork piece covers and surrounds the rice. Repeat to make 6.
Put oil in a frying pan and heat on medium high. Place the rolls seam side down into the pan and cook until browned and crispy. Rotate and repeat on all sides until fully cooked.
Add the sauce ingredients to the pan and mix. Cook and rotate the rolls in the sauce until it thickens.
